Introduction

Abrha Screen Recorder is a free Chrome extension for recording your screen or camera, annotating while you record, and editing the video afterwards. It is a ParsPack / Abrha product. There is no account and no cloud service. This page explains what data is processed when you use the extension.

Data processing

Everything stays on your device

• Recording, camera preview, annotations, and the editor run in your browser on this device
• Video, audio, and settings are stored locally in Chrome storage and the browser database by default
• Nothing leaves the device unless you export or download a file yourself

What we do not collect or send to our servers

• Recorded video or audio
• Camera or microphone streams
• The contents of the page you record
• Name, email, or an account (this extension has no sign-in)
• Location
• Analytics to third-party services

Files you export

If you save a recording as MP4, WebM, or GIF, the file goes to your browser Downloads folder. Sharing that file with anyone else is your choice and is outside the extension.

Permissions and why they are used

Chrome requires these permissions for recording. The extension uses them only for the purposes below:

• Camera and microphone: only when you start a camera or audio recording and grant access
• Tab / screen capture: record the current tab, a selected region, or the screen / a window
• Site access and scripting: show the toolbar and drawing / blur tools on the page you are recording
• Storage: keep settings and recordings on this device
• Downloads: save the exported video to your computer
• Tabs and display info: open the editor and measure the screen for region recording
• Optional alarms / keep awake: auto-stop a recording and prevent the system from sleeping while you record

Your control

• You can stop or cancel a recording at any time
• You can revoke camera and microphone access in Chrome site or extension settings
• Uninstalling the extension removes its related local data
