About Abrha Storage

Introduction

Abrha Storage is a WordPress plugin for media offload and site backups to S3-compatible cloud storage. This page explains why the plugin exists and how it helps a WordPress site.

Why this plugin matters

Media files and backup archives grow quickly. Keeping everything on the same host increases disk use, backup time, and the risk of losing files when the server fails. Abrha Storage moves that weight to an S3-compatible bucket while the site can still serve files from the current host when cloud storage is not used.

What it does

Media offload

• Sends uploaded media to an S3-compatible provider
• Can rewrite media URLs so visitors load files from the bucket
• Can migrate existing local attachments to the cloud in batches

Backups

• Creates database and file backups from the WordPress admin
• Stores archives on the current host or on the selected cloud provider
• Supports restore and chunked import of backup archives

Current host

If no cloud provider is configured, the plugin keeps using the current host. Nothing is forced to leave the server until you choose a provider and turn offload or cloud backup on.

Data and credentials

• Provider keys and settings are stored in the WordPress database on your site
• The plugin does not send site files to Abrha servers
• Files leave the site only toward the S3-compatible endpoint you configure
• No anonymous analytics are sent to third-party services
